AGUILA's electronic emergency hammer wins the 2020 Road Safety Innovation Award
The electronic emergency hammer, an innovation from AGUILA, has received the 2020 Road Safety Innovation Award in the category Improvement of Road and Vehicle Safety.
During the Puisseguin tragedy in October 2015, 43 people lost their lives in a bus accident. No emergency hand hammer could be used to break the windows and evacuate the vehicle.
In the weeks that followed, road safety actors asked AGUILA to imagine new solutions for evacuating people and smoke in the event of an accident. "AGUILA thus embarked on an ambitious R&D programme to develop an electronic emergency hammer capable of breaking the windows of a coach or bus in a matter of seconds. " underlines Hubert FORGEOT, President of AGUILA.
This technological breakthrough meets the expectations of passenger transport security organizations and is part of a global crisis management solution in the event of an accident or distress situation for better evacuation.
This innovation was supported by the New Aquitaine Region. It is the result of close collaboration between industrial players, institutional players and players in the field of safety and fire (State, Road Safety, ANATEEP, AMSRA, SISS, etc.).
